Lift Your Hands In Praise
Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
God’s loving heart is always ready to unlock the door to your receiving whatever you need, and that includes healing. Yet, so many Christians are unable to receive this blessing because they’ve been told by church leaders and other Christians that God doesn’t heal today or that God heals some people and not others.
God doesn’t discriminate against anyone. Whoever asks God to heal them in faith from the heart will receive. This is a promise of God so you can believe that it’s true. And you can believe this truth is for YOU! GOD WILL HEAL YOU WHEN YOU ASK, FOR WHATEVER YOU ASK. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done, what your background is or what amount of education you have or career choice. Look at what Peter said in Acts 10:24.
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
Healing belongs to you. Get that settled in your mind and then thank God for it by praising Him with words, prayer and song. Take your healing by faith and share the message with those you know about what God will do for them and what He has done for you.
18. I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.
19. I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the Lord; and I will heal him.
Whether you see your healing manifest immediately or not, God answered you when you asked Him to heal you. Once you’ve prayed, bring it forth to your body, mind or soul with your trust and faith in God. Show God that you have more than hope, but complete trust that He has healed you with the power of praise and thankfulness.
Psalm 9:11 King Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.
I remember when Bayless Conley, pastor of the church my husband and I attended in California when we attended his ministry school, was in a boating accident that had almost taken his life. After he had received healing he talked about the power of praise and the victory in healing.
He was greatly thankful to be alive and thankful that his family, friends and church family had prayed and then praised and thanked God in faith that he would live! Because of their faith, he was able to celebrate the victory in his healing!
As a pastor he realized that many people don’t celebrate the victory in healing as they do when someone is saved, so he wanted to make the point. I’m glad that he did. This is why I wanted to share his message as a pastor, and as a man who was healed in Christ when his prognosis had been very bleak.
He wrote in an article that when one person gets healed, it’s a victory and we ought to celebrate with them and thank God the seeds of His Word were sown into the hearts of others. He said, “as we rejoice with the one, it reminds us that the potential is here, right now, today, for us to be healed by God as well.” Amen!
I live to share the victory we have in Christ Jesus, therefore, Bayless’ Words meant so much to me. I needed to share them because all Christians should praise God for victory, especially for victory in healing.
My Victory In Healing
Healing from scripture is a subject I had learned about early in life because my father taught me to have faith that God provides healing, even when it seems impossible. He proved that reality daily by taking care of himself and also by trusting God in prayer for healing when he needed it. He shared his victory and joy with me silently because my mother didn’t believe God heals and she didn’t like us to talk about it. Thankfully, I learned to trust God’s Word because of him.
As a young adult I studied about healing from scripture and was moved by a story the late Pastor Kenneth E. Hagin wrote concerning a baby that the doctors said would die. The family and church members were told to say good-bye, but instead they praised and thanked God for the victory in healing. That baby lived because the people who loved him took God’s Word for healing as truth.
I took that story and added it to what my father had taught me by adding praise and thanksgiving to my prayer requests to assure Christ’s victory in healing or for any problem I was facing. Putting praise together with prayer and God’s Word ignites God’s power in our lives to take our blessings by expecting to receive them.
I still thank God that I was healed of childhood asthma, the beginning stages of cancer, an affliction in my hands that made my right hand almost useless. I was healed of the up-and-down syndrome of weight loss and weight gain and I could go on and on, but my real excitement for scriptural healing involves my children.
I remember when the doctor said that my youngest daughter at age four had a very serious flu that was dangerous. She was so sick! Not even the medicine he had given her was helping. I began to rock her while I praised and thanked God for healing her. Close to half an hour later she asked me to take her outside to play on the swings. She could hardly speak a short time before, but now she spoke with energy and excitement.
I took her out and sat on one of the swings with her until she pushed off my lap and began singing and swinging on her own. She said she was well and felt great! We played outside for a while until she got tired, but the flu never came back.
What happened to my daughter is a reality for anyone who seeks God’s truth and applies it to their life. Look at Philippians 4:6-8 and you see the recipe for healing and long life. First, don’t worry about anything. Pray with thankfulness that you have received. Then receive the peace of God that comes when you aren’t anxious. And to keep that peace and assurance that God has healed you, let Philippians 4:8 guide your thoughts and the words you speak.
6. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8.Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
I’ve shared the victory of my daughter’s healing and other healings my family has experienced over the years many times. Those who didn’t believe God heals today weren’t that excited, but what mattered was that we were witnesses for God’s victory. We shared miracles that planted seeds for others to be healed. You can do the same. None of us are perfect, but as Christians God knows that His children are committed to growing in Christ to become more Godly.
More Victory In Healing Scripture
1. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
2. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
More than ever, our world needs to know about our compassionate, sin-destroying, burden-lifting, healing God who will make you whole.
