Yorkshire Terrior Paintings

6 x 6 inch Cotton Canvas Smooth Panel

Floppy-Ears Yorkie Puppy!

The paint is still wet on this one! I just finished it and have set it aside to dry.  Then I’ll give it a few coats of varnish to protect it. It’s painted with my favorite heavy body acrylic paint by Golden, with a base painting of SoFlat by Golden.

I love Golden paint because it’s rich and creamy with bright colors that stand out!  It’s also one of the best acrylic professional paints with colorfastness that lasts for at least a hundred years. I use this for all of my professional acrylic paintings.

I used my Yorkies’ look of energy, mixed with sweetness and a slight touch of  innocent mayhem from his puppy days for this picture. I can always tell when he’s up to something, usually a little bit of trouble. But he’s well behaved and obedient most of the time.

His ears are floppy and completely shaved with his head and body a little shaggy for a scruffy look that suits him. He’s lots of fun, so I hope that I captured that element in this painting.  I’ve made so many paintings of him, I thought I would share this one.

Our Faithful Friends

I love to paint dogs and other animals. However, dogs are my favorite painting subjects. They’re so kind and loving, and they add so much joy to our lives. They’re a true gift that keeps on giving whether large or small. I’ve had many dogs, but my three favorites were my Maltese named Sammy, my Yorkie named Angus, and our Rottweiler, named Cody.

I’ll update here when this painting is ready.

Available In 3 Months. "Floppy Ears Yorkie Puppy" is currently Drying.
